Ange Postecoglou thinks the 19-year-old has been ‘really good’ in Tottenham training lately

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has praised striker Dane Scarlett for his impressive performances in training.
Dane Scarlett has caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou during recent training sessions.
Tottenham were eliminated from the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, losing to Fulham on penalties.
Micky van de Ven’s own goal put Tottenham behind before Richarlison equalized after the break.
However, Tottenham faltered in the penalty shoot-out when Davinson Sanchez saved his penalty from Marek Rodak.
It’s a trophy for Tottenham in the first few weeks of the season, which isn’t ideal.
However, Postecoglou simply had to change teams to find out more about his new players.
One of them is Giovani Lo Celso, who received a starting XI role while James Maddison was on the bench.
However, Lo Celso failed to impress and was delighted at half-time when Postecoglou brought on young striker Dane Scarlett in his place.

Scarlett couldn’t find a winner for Tottenham; A possible chance presented itself after Rodak saved a goal from Manor Solomon, but he just couldn’t react fast enough to score.
Scarlett also failed to take a penalty in the shootout as Tottenham were eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
Tottenham must now make a decision on Scarlett’s future before the transfer deadline.
There may be a real temptation to return the 19-year-old on loan to gain more experience this season.
Scarlett spent last season at Portsmouth, scoring four goals in 34 League One games.

A first loan can be difficult for any young player and hopes are still high as Scarlett shines in Tottenham’s youth team.
Postecoglou will make that decision in the next 48 hours but he has had some praise for the youthful striker.
Postecoglou told Football London that he feels Scarlett has been “really good” in Tottenham training lately.
The Australian hinted that Scarlett had “shone” when he came on as a substitute against Fulham and that a potential loan move is now being discussed with Postecoglou, who is adamant he has a long-term future at Tottenham.
“Yeah, I thought he was smart when he came. He’s been really good for us in training, he’s been working really hard,” Postecoglou said. “Look, I’ll be sitting down with Dane in the next few days and showing him a way forward. I really think he definitely has a future at our club and I really like his qualities as a striker.”
“With young players, there is always a trade-off as to whether they are getting enough playing time because for him, playing is the next stage of development. He played a couple of games last year and I think he’s improved as a player since then. I’ll make that decision and sit down with him over the next few days, but I certainly see him as a Tottenham player and a lot of that will depend on what else happens over the next two or three days,” he added .
