An all-female NC motorcycle group pays it back with fireworks to help victims of domestic violence

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WNCN) – From basic to high-end fireworks, you can find everything under a tent on Skibo Road in Fayetteville.

For the past four years, the K-9 Too Motorcycle Club has operated a fireworks display every 4th of July in Fayetteville. Yonita Martin, the club’s vice president, said there was a greater purpose behind the fireworks.

“K-9 Too is a women’s club. That’s why we’re trying to give something back to women,” said Martin.

The purpose is to pass it on to other women and those in need.

Each year, the All-Woman Motorcycle Club donates money raised from the fireworks to women affected by domestic violence, homeless children and the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society.

“We have some members from our own club who have died from domestic violence,” Martin said. “That’s why we’re a big supporter against domestic violence and women who are victims of domestic violence.”

She continued, “Our club is (also) all about community service. It’s just a group of women who ride motorcycles, but we really came for community service and to give back to the community.”
