Preakness Stakes 2022: Preview

The Preakness is the shortest of the Triple Crown races at 1 3/16 miles, so this race will favor horses that get a good start over others. Condition is still important, as is finishing speed, but there’s just less time to catch up on a bad start in this race. On the plus side, it’s significantly less crowded than the Kentucky Derby, giving the horses more room to find a track to lead.
