Amber Heard’s petition to be removed from Aquaman 2 exceeds 2M

Angry Johnny Depp fans can’t wait to oust Amber Heard: A petition calling for the actress to be removed from Aquaman 2 has garnered over 2 million signatures amid the actor’s ongoing defamation lawsuit.

“Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2,” implored creator Jeanne Larson in the game’s description Change.org petitionwhich was founded in 2020. The campaign goal is 3 million signatures, which fans hope will prevent Heard from reprising her role as Princess Mera in the James Wan-directed superhero sequel, which wrapped in January.

The Post has reached out to Heard’s rep for comment.

The Depp supporter said she started the campaign because she believes allegations Heard, 36, was “exposed as a domestic abuser” by the 58-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star. Larson said she didn’t want her alleged on-camera behavior “glorified.”

She went on to cite the alleged “many instances of domestic violence,” such as Heard’s is said to have punched her then-husband in the face. She also referred to the alleged incident where the ‘Aquaman’ actress severed Depp’s fingertip throwing him a bottle of vodka.

“About the incident where she shattered the bones in Johnny Depp’s finger and nearly severed it, resulting in Depp having to have surgery to reattach and repair it,” Larson wrote of the allegations. “He will carry the scar of that for the rest of his life.”

“Men are victims of domestic violence, just like women. This must be recognized and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated in the entertainment industry,” she urged.

Fans no doubt also see the petition as reparation for Disney’s dumping of Depp from his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film after Heard accused him of molestation. On Wednesday, a former agent of Depp testified that the emotional trauma of Heard’s abuse allegations cost him the film franchise.

In the meantime, Heard had initially been dismissed the petition as a paper tiger.

“Paid rumors and paid social media campaigns don’t dictate [casting decisions] because they have no basis in reality,” the actor scoffed in a statement. “Only the fans made ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Aquaman 2’ really possible. I look forward to getting started next year.”

So far, Heard is still around is supposed to appear in the DC stripwhich is slated for a March 2023 release.

The news comes as she and Depp – who were married from 2015 to 2017 – are locked in an ongoing court battle to determine if Depp was defamed by Heard’s 2018 Washington Post essay in which she accused Depp of molestation .

Depp, who vehemently denies the allegations, is aiming for at least $50 million In compensation. He is also seeking $350,000 in punitive damages, attorneys’ fees and court costs.

Meanwhile, Heard’s attorneys are seeking $100 million from Depp for abuse and other damages. They have accused Depp of physically and sexually assaulting Heard while she was abusing drugs and alcohol, and claim his legal team falsely accused them of fabricating the allegations of abuse.
