As the jury decides their blockbuster defamation trial, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp brace themselves for more blockbusters.
Heard is slated to appear in two films: Run Away With Me and In the Fire.
According to IMDb, “Run Away With Me” follows an American in Paris who falls helplessly in love with a model before they discover the “criminal underworld” of the modeling industry in Europe.
Meanwhile, in “In the Fire,” Heard plays a New York City psychiatrist set in the 1890s who visits a Colombian plantation to “take care of a troubled boy.” While treating the child, she sparks tensions with a priest who believes the boy is possessed.
These listings on Heard’s IMDb page follow her appearance in next year’s Aquaman and the Last Kingdom, in which her role was significantly cut.
While people, including Heard, speculated that her role in the film was reduced due to the circus surrounding the trial between her and ex-husband Depp, DC Films president Walter Hamada shut down the rumor.
“The size of the role she had in the film was established in early script development, which was scheduled to take place in 2018,” he testified at the trial. “The character’s involvement in the story was the way it was from the start.”
But Heard isn’t the only one in the spotlight. Depp – who was spotted on stage over the weekend, the judges advised – is set to be cast in the Tim Burton-directed Beetlejuice sequel.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted Depp’s distinctive cast-list name online and raved about his possible on-screen feature.
“If they really intend to make Beetlejuice 2, starring Johnny Depp, it will be the highest-grossing film of the year it’s released.” speculated a Twitter user.
“It’s rumored that Johnny Depp will star in Beetlejuice 2.” announced another“Let me tell you, I’m going to scream.”
While the Pirates of the Caribbean star is no stranger to Burton films — he’s starred in Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland, Sleepy Hollow, and Charlie in the Chocolate Factory — he’s also involved the other rumored befriended cast members.
Depp, 58, doesn’t appear to be getting away from ex-boyfriends, including Winona Ryder, 50, who is set to reprise her character in Beetlejuice 2. Michael Keaton, 70, is also set to reprise his lead role in the 1988 classic.
According to the film’s IMDb page, the sequel – set to premiere in 2025 – follows the “original cast and crew, plus new additions” as they find themselves homeless.
For the past six weeks, Depp and Heard, 36, have faced each other in a defamation case currently under jury deliberation.
Depp is suing Heard for $50 million for defaming him in her 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she claimed she was a “public figure who represents domestic violence,” allegedly damaging his reputation and potential earnings have tasted. Meanwhile, Heard is suing her ex for $100 million, saying his allegation – that her allegations of abuse were fabricated – destroyed her reputation and career.
