Alleged shooter in NYC girl Kyhara Tay arrested

The 15-year-old, who allegedly shot dead an innocent 11-year-old Bronx girl earlier this week, has been charged with murder, police confirmed on Friday.

The teenager, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody just after 2am on Friday and charged with murder, manslaughter and dual criminal possession of a weapon, police officers confirmed.

Kyhara Tay was shot dead just before 5pm on Monday while visiting a nail salon, New Kim Nails, on Fox Street with her friend, police officers said.

The gunman drove past on a moped and opened fire on another group on the corner, according to police.

However, the shooter missed, fatally hitting the young girl.

Police were still looking for a 14-year-old boy believed to have been involved in the shooting.
