All Nursing Home Residents Survive After Tornado Devastates Facility: ‘Divine Intervention’

The ship made landfall in Mayfield, Kentucky, crossed 200 miles, destroyed 1,000 homes and killed at least 70 – but a local nursing home experienced a miracle in the middle of a storm when it didn’t lose a person any of its 74 inhabitants.
There is much evidence in this story, including that Mayfield Health and Renaissance nursing home practiced a tornado drill Friday afternoon amid an impending storm.
Later that day, around 9 p.m., the 20-year-old employees realized that the establishment was right up the street. tornado, so they started bringing residents to the center of the building.
9:27 am, the nursing home was hit by bullets. One of the four wings was completely leveled, and the 35,000 square foot building was later identified as total damage.
Despite structural damage, all 74 residents survive, with two single small slashes on their arms.

Two other nursing homes in the area, Mills Nursing & Rehabilitation and Green Acres Wellness, remain untouched.
“When you see the devastation of the building, to keep so many people alive is truly a miracle,” regional CEO Sarah Stewart said Monday, according to Louisville. Courier Magazine.
“These are elderly, vulnerable people who can’t run,” says Stewart. “The employees risked their lives to protect them. That is the best result. “
In social media posts, the facility advised family members not to do the walking tour to check things out, make sure everyone is doing well and have been moved to a safe location. whole.

Another mercy is that eight residents were recently moved in from one of the wings for construction purposes – and it happened to be that the wing was demolished.
“It’s hard to say there’s no divine intervention there,” says Stewart.

“Mayfield Health and Rehab,” Chief Nursing Officer Bethany Crouch posted on Facebook. “A building where a lot of friendships begin. A building that had contained so much love in its walls … no longer stood.
“But what makes it strong is the love, teamwork, dedication and heroism that was created in that special facility.
“All the staff members who worked so hard, risking their lives to protect all 74 residents of the facility on that dreaded Friday night – will forever be my heroes. There will never be enough words or actions to thank you for your dedication to getting our residents to safety.
“Standing back and thinking that every one of our precious residents came out of that facility with very minor injuries – absolutely unbelievable. What a real miracle!! ”
