Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is home to some incredibly dangerous wyverns, and we’ve got everything you need to know about each Sunbreak monster ahead of the expansion’s official release.
The Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak release window is fast approaching, which means hunters will soon be able to embark on a new monolithic adventure. From additional locations to new wirebug moves, there will be many new experiences for players.
However, just like previous Monster Hunter expansions, Sunbreak features a roster of new and returning creatures for players to hunt. To give you an advantage the games animal enemies, we have a list of all the monsters announced for sunbreak.
All Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak monsters
Malzeno is the main flagship of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Not much is known about this mysterious Elder Dragon, but he looks incredibly strong. In fact, during the Sunbreak reveal trailer, Malzeno can be seen slaying a Rathalos.
Red energy also appears to glow from his wings and red mane, which may indicate Malzeno is a dragon element monster. This fearsome Elder Dragon also has a pair of huge horns, claws, and a spiked tail that it’s likely to use to stab enemies.
Lunagaron is a new Fanged Wyvern that bears a striking resemblance to Tobi-Kadachi and Odogaron. Due to the close resemblance to Odogaron in appearance and name, it is currently speculated that it is a new variant of Monster Hunter: World Beast.
The wolf-like creature seems to grow in strength when the moon is at its fullest, and let out a terrifying howl that terrifies anyone who hears it.
Last year’s Game Awards Sunbreak trailer showed Lunagron growing ice on its back, which it will likely use to tear through its opponent’s flesh – inflicting Ice Rot that slows stamina regeneration. Lunagaron proves to be an excellent climber and appears to be incredibly agile.
Aside from the two new monsters that were revealed, Shogun Ceanataur will also make his much-anticipated return in Monster Hutner Rise Sunbreak. This oversized crab was first introduced in Monster Hunter 2 and has appeared in numerous titles since then.
However, its release in Sunbreak will mark the first time Carapaceon has received a high-fidelity makeover. While his moveset is yet to be revealed, we can expect to see the usual erratic moves, high-pressure water jets, and bone-crushing pincer moves.
Garangolm is a massive beast that uses its size to stomp its enemies into the ground. As if that wasn’t scary enough, Garangolm uses both water and fire moves to overwhelm those who dare cross his path.
Astalos returns to Monster Hunter with the Sunbreak expansion. This Flying Wyvern first appeared in Monster Hunter Generations, where he is known to use his thunderous moves to shatter the lives of his enemies.
Hunters must dodge everything from AoE electric blasts, deadly claw swipes, and tail slaps to try and stay alive.
Blood Orange Bishaten
Blood Orange Bishaten is a new variant that throws exploding pine cones that deal massive amounts of damage. With its erratic movements and fast attacks, dodging these explosive attacks could be quite difficult.
