Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe’s win over Brentford at St James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Newcastle United beat Brentford 1:0 at home in the league.

Callum Wilson scored the only goal of the game.

It came from a penalty in the 64th minute.

And the BBC sports pundit was happy with the end result.

It wasn’t one of Newcastle’s best performances and there were controversial refereeing decisions.

But in the end the Magpies got the job done.

Newcastle are very much in the top four

Newcastle are now in 11th place in the Premier League table with six points from five games.

The Magpies are six points behind Brighton and Hove Albion in fourth place.

It’s hard to imagine Newcastle challenging defending champions Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.

However, we believe Eddie Howe’s side will challenge for the top four in the Premier League.

Newcastle finished in the UEFA Champions League places in the league table last season.

And they are a better team now than last season.
