Aintree girls win style stakes on day one of the Grand National in statement dresses and sky-high heels

Flashy dresses, sky-high stilettos and statement hats… one of the most anticipated events on the racing calendar is back with a bang.
Stylish racegoers have arrived at Liverpool’s Aintree Racecourse for the start of the 2022 Grand National, pulling out all the stops with their outfits.
Around 150,000 revelers are expected to attend the four and a half mile steeplechase, with an estimated global television audience of 600 million watching from afar.
To start day one in style, dressed up women were seen enjoying fizz while cheering on the jockeys.
From daring figure-hugging dresses to pretty lace numbers, attendees are sure to have shown their best fashion feet for the meet.
And when her clothes don’t catch everyone’s eye, her eccentric hats will no doubt do the trick.


According to the Jockey Club, which owns the racecourse, there is “no official dress code” but “smart is preferable and is often adopted”.
“Aintree is a spectacle of color all year round and many take their trip to the racecourse as an opportunity to showcase their favorite race day outfits,” it said in a statement.
“Hats are also optional but are worn frequently.
“Sports attire and costumes are not permitted for the Randox Health Grand National Festival.”
