WICKENBURG, Ariz. (AP) – Arizona authorities are stepping up enforcement on a rural highway known for its deadly crashes. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is directing its delegates to increase patrols on US 93rd Street near the congressional community. The state’s Department of Public Safety has in recent months worked out special enforcement details. US 93 is part of the main tourist route between Phoenix and Las Vegas. Sgt. Daniel Moralez estimates he has dealt with at least 100 bad collisions during his nine years as deputy. He said many are involved in speeding or passing prohibited areas.
