Aeromexico says bankruptcy court accepts sponsorship pledge letter

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Mexican airline Aeromexico said late on Monday a bankruptcy court had approved the carrier’s letters of undertaking related to exit funding and set up a confirmation hearing for scheduled for January 18.

Aeromexico filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States last year and is going through a restructuring process with creditors and investors.

“The joint proposal has the support of our strategic partner Delta Air Lines and a group of long-term Mexican investors to meet foreign investment requirements,” Aeromexico said in a statement. posted on the Mexican stock exchange.

“Aeromexico will continue to work with all key stakeholders to obtain court approval and continue working to exit Chapter 11 restructuring as soon as possible.”
