Adele’s Las Vegas residency was hailed as “spectacular” and “surreal” over the debut weekend

Adele’s long awaited stay in Las Vegas began over the weekend with the singer performing on Friday 18th November and Saturday 19th November.
On Sunday (November 20) Adele posted a series of pictures on her Instagram with the caption ‘Weekend One’, including some pictures of her crying during certain songs.
Adele was originally scheduled to perform shows on the Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace in January but canceled them at the last minute and later explained she felt they lacked intimacy.
It seems viewers will agree the wait was worth it, as a number of critics, celebrities and fans have shared their ecstatic reactions to the first two shows.
In her reviewbillboard Calling the performance “absolutely and breathtakingly spectacular,” adding, “It was remarkable to see a performer at her level be so present and absorb everything she had accomplished to arrive in that moment.”
Rapper Stormzy was spotted at the show with Adele’s partner Rich Paul and later praised the show on his Instagram story.
The New York Times Explained how Adele cried several times during the show and described the set up: “Adele’s stage is breathtaking, full of drama and elegance befitting her voice.”
In her four-star review of the show,The times said the performances were “spectacular, intimate and worth the wait”.
In some videos of the show shared by fans, the 34-year-old can be seen singing “Set Fire To The Rain” as flames and rain descend from the stage.

“‘Set Fire to the Rain’ was UNREAL,” social media producer Brandon López wrote on Twitter after attending the show.
On Sunday (November 20th), the singer announced that she would be expanding her residency to include two special New Year’s Eve shows.
“New Year’s Eve has always been a disappointment for me, I always seem to spend it in the car on the way to and from somewhere! But not this year!” she wrote in her caption.
“I’ll ring in 2023 on stage!! I dress smart for NYE and I’d love for those of you who come to do the same! Let’s go out all the black tie vibes,” she added.
