Adele swaps baggy jumpers and ballet flats for bikinis and mini dresses as she revamps her style after 7th weight loss

FROM baggy jumpers to shiny dresses, Adele has gone through quite a style evolution over the years.
The superstar is one of the best-selling music artists in the world. We take a look at how her fashion sense has changed.
2007 chasing paychecks
Before Adele signed her first record deal, she was just a struggling musician, living with her mother Penny in a flat above a discount supermarket in south London and performing in pubs and cafes.
Her signature style was baggy sweaters and smock dresses accessorized with a guitar and a fag, obvs.
2008 A pint of lager and a pack of hits
When her debut album 19 hit #1, she moved to trendy Notting Hill, where she hung out with BRIT School graduate Kate Nash.
With no stylist in sight, Adele was still a fan of oversized knitwear, a dress over jeans and ballet flats. Well, it was the noughties.

2011 Someone Like Who?
The moment that catapulted the singer into the stratosphere was her performance of Someone Like You at the 2011 BRIT Awards.
Adele, who wore a black Burberry dress and looked super glamorous, was apparently so nervous she cried backstage – though not nearly as much as we sobbed while listening to their breakup album 21, which was released a few weeks earlier .
2012 British cool
At this year’s BRITs, Adele put on a brilliant glow-up.
She wore black Burberry again, but now with mega-bling diamond jewelry – including an engagement ring from her then-boyfriend, charity boss Simon Konecki.
She also debuted her soon-to-be big hair dryer. She looked every inch the megastar, and by now 21 was selling like hot rolls
on both sides of the pond.
2013 American Dream
At the 2012 Grammys, Adele won all six awards she was nominated for, but when she returned a year later, it was her red floral Valentino Couture outfit that made headlines.
Opinions were divided on her statement dress, with many saying it looked like a pair of curtains. Pull yourself together!
2016 Hello again!
After taking a little hiatus to have baby Angelo, Adele released her third album, 25th, in 2015.
It made a triumphant return to fame at the 2016 BRITs, where she won four awards, dressed in a dramatic red Giambattista Valli gown, accessorized with black nails and a bright red lip. It turned out that the wait was worth it.
2017 Green Goddess
Adele took home five gongs at the 2017 Grammys, and in her album of the year acceptance speech she praised Beyoncé’s Lemonade.
She looked noticeably slimmer and wore an olive green Givenchy dress, drawing harsh comparisons to Fiona from Shrek.
She shot back, “I don’t give a damn. It was Givenchy Couture, they can say what they want.”
2020 LA lady
When Adele posted a picture of herself in a black mini dress to Instagram in May 2020, it sparked mass hysteria for losing so much weight.
The snap, taken on her 32nd birthday, has garnered more than 12 million likes and 250,000 comments – not all positive.
A longtime role model for plus-size women, many of her fans felt betrayed by her new slim look.
2020 car nival crash
During the Notting Hill Carnival (cancelled due to Covid), Adele posted a photo of herself with a Bantu knot and a Jamaican flag bikini.
The singer was slammed for cultural appropriation. “I didn’t read the damn room,” she admitted, but declined to take the post down.
2022 Set the Dominion on fire
At this year’s BRITs, Adele took home an additional three gongs for her fourth album, 30, making her the most decorated female solo artist in the history of the ceremony with 12 awards.

She also wore three stunning outfits including this velvet mini dress by Marianna Senchina.
The singer thanked her ex-husband Simon and son Angelo in her acceptance speech and was seen leaving the after-party in fluffy slippers with a pack of fags. This is our girl!
