‘Active shooter’ in Oakridge mall – A shot as San Jose police ask shoppers to shelter in place due to ‘armed suspect’

POLICE is responding to reports of a person being shot at Westfield Oakridge Mall.
Police say people are being advised to shelter in place.
Local reports said people were running from a building near the scene but it was not clear if a suspect was there.
“Units are currently at Oakridge Mall when there are reports of a person being shot. Officers at work [sic] into the shopping mall. Please shelter in place if you can,” read a tweet from the San José Police Media Relations Authority.
Police have confirmed that one person was shot but their condition is currently “unknown”.
San José fire and ambulance units were seen in the mall’s parking lot.
Mayor of San Jose, Sam Liccardo tweeted that the shooting did not “seem to involve an active shooter” and that the shooting did not continue after a victim was injured.
“Many @SanJosePDs are on the scene and are working quickly to keep everyone safe.”
