Apex Legends streamer Brandon ‘aceu’ Winn has sparked debate by suggesting that ranked should be for solo players only.

While standard Apex Legends matches are perfect for the majority of the community, some players prefer to test their skills in a more competitive environment.

This is exactly what the ranked mode is designed for, where players compete against opponents of a similar level and have the opportunity to climb the tiers.

Unfortunately, many pros, streamers, and players alike have pointed out glaring issues with the leaderboard, including a lack of demotion, three stacks, and no meaningful rewards.

On April 4th, aceu took to Twitter and decided to reveal what he thinks is the solution to how to fix Apex Legends leaderboards and it seems to have sparked a debate within the community.

Aceu only calls for ranked play “for solo queues only” and believes that duos and trios should be removed.

No doubt this would prevent certain players from being carried and potentially improve matchmaking as two and three stacks would not be able to dominate lobbies.

However, it would take away a lot of flexibility from players looking to team up with friends and potentially make the mode less popular.

Aceu’s tweet received mixed reactions from the community, with many players dubbing the statement “W-take.” Still, others believe it would “kill a lot of collaborative content” and make it harder to practice for pre-packaged groups.

Anyhow, there’s no denying that it would probably result in a more balanced ranked experience, but it would definitely come at the expense of fun for many squads.
