According to the report, Liverpool’s £26m goal is now getting closer to a move to Newcastle United

Newcastle United are believed to be close to signing Celta Viga prodigy Gabri Veiga this summer.
Celta Vigo talent Gabri Veiga is now closer to a move to Newcastle United despite ties to Real Madrid.
This is according to a report by Spanish newspaper Marcawho, with their big headline, claim that Veiga is “very close” to moving to Newcastle.
They stress that Newcastle were among the teams that followed Veiga the most during his breakthrough campaign.
The report adds that Newcastle have made their offer to sign Veiga and are “in the best position” to sign him.
Real Madrid were interested in signing Veiga but instead focused on signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
It is added that Celta have been desperate to negotiate a new contract for Veiga as his release clause is just €30m (£26m).
Celta have now come to terms with losing Veiga and with Newcastle offering plenty of money, it’s rumored the midfielder could move to Tyneside soon.

Gabri Veiga is a real coup if Newcastle get a deal
Veiga has broken through the Celta ranks to become La Liga’s new rising talent of the season.
The 21-year-old excelled in midfield, recording nine goals and four assists in 35 games.
This type of attack threat has made Veiga a wanted man, and rumors of suitors have been circulating for weeks.
Spanish reporter Manu Sainz, who spoke to AS TVhinted in March that Liverpool were interested in signing Veiga.
Sainz confirmed this in early May, he said AS – quoted by sports witness – that he saw Veiga as closer to a move to Liverpool than Real Madrid.
But with Liverpool now focusing on midfielders like Alexis Mac Allister and Manu Kone, the door remains open for Newcastle to join.
Veiga appears to be a huge prospect for the future and if Newcastle can pull that off, they may just have gained a star midfielder for years to come.
