Abbott Elementary fans criticized that they wanted an episode of school shootings after the Texas massacre

Abbott Elementary actress and creator Quinta Brunson is upset that fans of the ABC sitcom have asked her to write a school shoot episode.

On Wednesday, Brunson, 32, said viewers should redirect their energies to political changes.

“It’s amazing how many people have asked for a school shoot episode of the show I’m writing.” She wrote on social media.

“People are so far from demanding more from the politicians who elected them that they are demanding ‘entertainment’ instead. I can’t ask anymore ‘are you okay’ because the answer is ‘no’,” she wrote in a Twitter thread.

“Please use this energy to ask your elected official to respect Beto time and no less. I beg you,” Brunson urged her followers.

Her plea comes after 19 students and two teachers were shot dead at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday. Another 17 people sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Alleged gunman Salvador Ramos had legally purchased two AR-15 assault rifles on his 18th birthday; He then took one to the school before opening fire, according to police.

“I don’t want to sound mean, but I want people to understand the mistake of asking about something like this. we are not fine. This country rots our brains. I’m saddened by this,” Brunson continued in her posts.
