Aaron Carter didn’t show up for the podcast – host Christy Carlson Romano feared the worst

Christy Carlson Romano feared the worst for Aaron Carter nearly a month before his death when he missed a scheduled appearance on her podcast.

The 38-year-old Even Stevens graduate and current Vulnerable podcast host posted an episode Tuesday in which she explained she was supposed to interview the I Want Candy star — but he never showed up.

“I was really worried … I had an instinctive feeling that something bad was about to happen to him. I was right, unfortunately,” a somber Romano said in a three-minute introductory clip at the beginning of the episode, added after his death on Nov. 5.

A representative for Romano told The Post that the episode was filmed in late September. It’s not clear why Carter didn’t show up for the taping.

The Post has reached out to a Carter representative for comment.

Former Disney star Romano, already lined up at a table in the recording studio, decided to continue the episode alone — speaking into a microphone across from an empty chair and another unused microphone — but at one point she checked her phone for an update from Carter Abode.

“I’m still looking,” she laughed, putting her phone down again. “I should accept the fact that this interview is not happening.”

Romano did not refer to Carter by name during his scheduled episode, but referred to him as “our guest”.

“It’s disappointing because I really wanted our guest to feel seen,” she continued. “I wanted them to share what their desires would be in their lives going forward and try to help them with that and try to manifest that with them.

“Also I’m kind of concerned because there is no update and I hope they are okay and I send them love,” Romano added.

She also revealed some of the topics she prepared for Carter, including his childhood, relationship with his family, hopes for the future and what he would say to his younger self.

Carter died on November 5th at his home in Lancaster, California. His official cause of death is not yet known, but compressed air cans and pill bottles were found at the scene.

Events after his death were rocky. His unfinished memoir – which Carter reportedly said he did not wish to publish – was cleared for publication not long after his death, but it has since been postponed due to controversy from his friends and family.

Since his death, fans have also been harassing his fiancee, Melanie Martin, over and over again.
