A 24-year-old woman brought it to Reddit after discovering that her grandparents had left her a huge amount of money as an inheritance. Her cousins asked her to share her money with them because they didn’t get much.
One woman revealed that she was devastated when her grandparents died because they were so essential to her life. She confesses that she always goes the extra mile to take care of them.
However, her cousins could not accept that she received more money from their estate after their death. Family feuds flare up when people find out how much money she received.
Reddit user named Exiledcousin posted her story after her cousin asked her to share her grandparents’ inheritance with them.
Her grandparents were very wealthy and owned many businesses. They had five children, thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, but they left a sizable inheritance to the woman because she was very close to them. She explain:
“I am the ‘child’ of my grandchildren and have always been very close to them.”

OP (Original Poster) will help grandparents wrap Christmas presents and decorate their house every year. In the past few years, they have asked their grandchildren to help with their business, but no one has come forward to accept it, except for the youngest grandchild who works for them for free.
She felt she was worthy of the money they left her.
She also regularly visits their horse training club with her father to care for the horses and clean the stables.

When OP’s paternal grandmother passed away, the family discovered her will, stating how her hard-earned money would be distributed. It is said that her children will receive $85,000 each, while the grandchildren will receive $2,000 each, with the exception of their youngest child who will receive more. OP disclosure:
“Unexpectedly they left me over $45,000 along with some other valuables.”

OP confessed that she was shocked to see how much money her dearest grandparents left her. On the other hand, her cousin could not accept the truth. They were very angry and asked her to divide the money equally among the thirteen of them, but she did not feel comfortable doing so.
Unlike her cousins, she believes that her grandparents left her more money because she cares about them and is always ready to help them. She felt she deserved it.
She also believes that she doesn’t have to share her inheritance with her cousins, but watching them fight for money makes her feel terrible. She never thought “money can tear them apart”.

While the OP knew her grandparents’ money could change her life – she could pay off a $10,000 student loan with that money and save the rest for future expenses, part of it. She wanted to divide the money equally among her cousins to keep the peace.
However, she also understood that her grandparents left the money to her for a reason. Regardless, she admission:
“I feel like I’m tearing my family apart with one hand.”

OP’s aunts and uncles refuse to talk to her father until she shares the money with their children. Feeling appalled, she consulted her fiancé and he told her not to split the money. She explain:
“I don’t want to split the money (it could really help me) but I feel that they can play me by making me choose between them and it.”
Confused, she decided to post her story on Reddit to seek advice from others. panic_fear answered, saying OP should keep all the money because her cousin doesn’t deserve it.

She believes the OP’s cousins were wrong to think the money belonged to them because of lineage. She also said that OP needs to respect the wishes of the grandparents and keep the money to themselves, add:
“Also, like you said, this money can positively change your life and give you the good start you need.”
While, itmeagainjohn answered“Money really brings out the worst in some people,” referring to the OP’s cousins.

In general, most Redditors tell the OP to keep the money to yourself.
