Police are looking for a man who threw a milk crate and traffic cones at a Times Square grocer in an attack caught on camera earlier this month.
The 57-year-old victim was approached at approximately 6:15 p.m. on May 14 at Seventh Avenue and West 40th Street, the NYPD said in a press release Saturday.
The two men got into a verbal argument that escalated and became physical.
The attacker kicked and punched the vendor and “picked up a milk crate and hit the victim in the head before throwing several traffic cones at the victim,” police officers said while releasing the footage.
The victim suffered a laceration to the head. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated and discharged.
The suspect fled after the attack. He is described as a dark complexioned male with short dark hair, approximately 6ft 2in tall and weighing 160lbs.
He was last seen wearing a black surgical mask, sweatpants, black t-shirt, backpack and gray Crocs.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by following the Crime Stoppers website @NYPDTips on Twitter.
