“A threepeat”: Trevor Noah hosts Grammys for third year in a row

Comedian Trevor Noah will host the Grammys for the third straight year.

Noah, who has just left his position as host The daily News, was asked to host the ceremony in 2023, making it the third time to host the prestigious ceremony.

The comedian announced the news on his social media on Thursday night (December 15) with a montage video of his past experiences during the ceremonies.

“It’s going to be a trio. #GRAMMYs on February 5th on CBS!” He captioned the video on Instagram.

The awards, taking place on February 5th at LA’s Crypto.com Arena, will host big nominated stars like Beyonce, Kendrik Lamar, Adele and Harry Styles.

Beyonce will arrive at the ceremony with a total of nine nominations for her most recent record Renaissance.

The full list of Grammy 2023 nominees can be found here.

The ceremony will return to its original LA home after being forced to relocate to Las Vegas in 2021 due to rising COVID-19 cases.

News of Noah’s hosting role comes just a week after he presented his final episode of The daily News.

The presenter canceled his final episode last week (December 8), paying tribute to the inspirational black women in his life.

“I’ve often been credited with having these great ideas. Who do you think is teaching me?” said Noah.

“Who do you think shaped me, nurtured me, informed me? From my mom, my grandma, my aunts, all those black women in my life but also in America.”

“This is going to be a threesome,” the star wrote on Instagram

He continued, “I always tell people if you really want to learn about America, talk to black women. Because unlike everyone else, black women can’t afford to f*** around and find out. Black people understand how hard it is when things are going badly.”

The show will now go through a trial period, during which several different presenters will try to compete for the new position.

The 38-year-old originally announced he was leaving the show back in September after seven years as a presenter.

“It was absolutely amazing. I never expected that,” Noah said at the time.

“I’ve been thinking about everything we’ve been through the whole time.

“The Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the trip, more pandemics and I realize my time is up after seven years,” the comedian added, before thanking fans for their support.
