A New River Walk-style park is coming to Laredo, Texas thanks to architectural firm Overland Partners

LAREDO, Texas – A San Antonio architecture and design firm is leading work on a proposed park that would straddle the US-Mexico border and create a River Walk-style attraction.

The video above is from a previous story.

Overland Partners was recently awarded a nearly $190,000 contract by the City of Laredo to develop a detailed concept and architectural renderings for the binational park.

As now planned, the 6.2-mile park would run parallel to the border of the southern Texas city of Laredo and its Mexican neighbor Nuevo Laredo. The park, which covers more than 1,000 hectares, would run along the banks of the Rio Grande River in Texas and the Rio Bravo River in Mexico. A pedestrian bridge could connect both sides of the park.
