A Missouri woman who was bitten after the “kitten” turned out to be a bobcat

A Kansas City woman learned the hard way that “curiosity kills the cat” when she picked up what she thought was a lost kitten this week — only to find it was actually a tiny bobcat acted.

The woman was bitten on the thumb after seeing the kitten on the side of the road in Liberty, Missouri, and trying to help her, local police officers said.

“One piece of advice…if you’re about to pick up that cute little kitten to pet, make sure it’s not a bobcat first!!” The department tweeted after the incident.

“They bite and scratch.”

In Liberty, a small town in Clay County that is home to just over 30,000 people, bobcats appear to be widespread.

The woman, who has not been identified, did not require medical attention, KMBC reported.

The Missouri woman’s little mishap isn’t the only feline confrontation that made headlines this week.

Burnt Toast, a black cat from Wisconsin, recently went viral for dragging an entire alligator head into his owner’s yard.

“He was very proud of himself,” owner Wendy Wiesehuegel told Fox News about the discovery.
