THIS mind-boggling optical illusion has left Brits baffled – as viewers don’t know if the circles or arrows are moving.
The startling image, created by Japanese Twitter user Jagarikin, has left thousands scratching their heads.
A GIF shows dark gray arrows on a gray background surrounded by colorful wheels.
Each time arrows appear, the circles appear to be moving in that direction.
Thousands of people on social media who can’t figure out how it works have been scratching their heads.
One man wrote on Reddit: “I don’t get it. What isn’t moving? I don’t see anything changing position…the arrows change, rotate every few seconds, add smaller arrows…. But apart from the colored rings, nothing moves.”
Another said on Twitter: “I have no idea what’s happening here. My brain has turned to mush.”
However, others seem to have unraveled the mystery and explained how the illusion works.
One person said: “It’s the inner and outer edges of the circles that create the illusion of movement.
“The colors of the edges have an off-time with the color of the core, and depending on how off-time they are and where, that creates the illusion of movement.”
Another explained: “It’s very clever to use the difference in time between the coloring of the edges and the coloring of the core to create the illusion of movement.
“If you break the illusion and look closely at the edges, you’ll see what I mean.”
Another one this morning bizarre puzzle in which two animals are lurking was shared on social media.
Another optical illusion recently became viral after a Image of a ball seemed to wobble although he is very still.
Meanwhile a Headache-inducing album cover People rubbed their eyes and even revealed a hidden message.
