A loaded gun was found in a bag during a TSA check at George Bush Intercontinental Airport

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Transportation Security Administration posted on their Twitter account on Wednesday morning that they had discovered an alarming find in one’s hand luggage.

A fully loaded 9mm gun and 14 rounds of ammunition were found in the pocket of a person they intended to bring on board.

Security checks add additional planning time before starting, but this is a prime example of the wait being worth the hassle.

Under the TSA, you can get civilian penalty up to $13,910 per violation per person.

Texas is home to many firearms owners, so before you travel, be sure to check your bags and take note of what you’re bringing with you to the airport.
