4K Blu-ray release date and bonus content revealed

One of the most influential werewolf movies is making its way to 4K thanks to Scream Factory.

The conversation about dying physical media has been going on for nearly a decade now that streaming and VOD are audiences’ primary way to consume media at their homes. However, in recent years, store companies Scream Factory have kept physical media alive by preserving their horror genre. They are best known for releasing the whole Friday the 13th their series of uncut bloody glory last year in a nice box set and recently in October they released the first five Halloween 4K movies. Now they are bringing another classic horror movie in Joe Dante‘NS Howls to 4K early next year.

This 1981 werewolf movie follows a news reporter after her near-fatal encounter with a serial killer leads her to a remote mountain resort teeming with lycan creatures. . Movies that have the participation of ET the Extra-Terrestrial‘NS Dee Wallace, Dennis Dugan, Elisabeth Brooks, Belinda Balaski, Christopher Stone, and Patrick Macnee.

From its amazing special effects that work to its dark themes that were ahead of its time to an ending that still haunts today, Howls is one of the best werewolf movies of all time and one of the best examples of the horror genre of the 80s. While it is overshadowed by the masterpiece Werewolves and modern classics like Ginger Snaps or American Werewolf in London released the same year, this movie deserves more love and this 4K restoration is the perfect way to revisit this classic.

Like Halloween 4K, this movie had a previous Blu-ray release from Scream Factory in 2013 and has no new special features that weren’t available on the previous release, but both Blu-Ray 4K and the standard Blu-Ray the release. This release comes with all new. 4K Restoration by Studio Canal. Each of these transfers was approved by Dante himself. 4K restoration has been popular since late, especially for the horror genre and famous directors are jumping on the bandwagon like Peter Jackson who recently announced that his classic hit comedy horror Zombie will be released on this format soon.

2021 has been a very busy year for the Scream factory, and this announcement shows that 2022 will be no different. Its next release is the 4K version of the 2015 Christmas horror comedy Krampus coming out next week on December 7th and Howls 4K will make some noise in the hearts of physical media lovers when it releases on February 15, 2022.
