2023 Golden Globes nominations announced

The Golden Globes are back to shake up Hollywood.

After waiving this year’s awards show, the coveted awards show is back on NBC, and nominations for the 2023 event will be announced Monday.

George Lopez and his daughter Mayan Lopez held court at the Beverly Hilton Hotel to unveil the nod.

The two presented the nominations in 27 categories for the show, which will air Jan. 10 on NBC and stream live on Peacock.

The 80th annual Golden Globes nominations are announced during the NBC show Today.

The 2022 ceremony was canceled after its voting body, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, came under fire for a lack of diversity within the organization as well as alleged ethical issues.

Comedian Jerrod Carmichael will host next year’s event. We are thrilled to have Jerrod Carmichael host the historic 80th Golden Globe Awards,” HFPA President Helen Hoehne said in a statement Dec. 8.

“His comedic talent entertained and thrilled audiences while delivering thought-provoking moments that are so relevant in our day and age,” said Hoehne.
