2 children fatally stabbed in Bronx apartment

Two young children were fatally stabbed in a Bronx apartment on Saturday night, law enforcement sources said.
The children, believed to be 3 years and 11 months old, were each stabbed in the neck with an unknown sharp object around 8 p.m. at an apartment building at 246 Echo Place in Mount Hope, sources said.
The children’s father called 911 – and a witness said she heard the panicked father yelling “help me” as he carried the bloodied children down the hallway.
The two victims were transported by EMS to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital where they were pronounced dead, sources added.
The video, viewed by The Post, shows paramedics performing CPR on the tiny bodies as they are wheeled out of the building on stretchers.
Police have taken the children’s mother into custody as an interested person, sources said. No charges were filed at this time.

A neighbor who lives down the hall, Shannon Holyfield, said the boys’ parents had a fight earlier in the day.
Later she heard the boys’ father scream and saw him carrying the two boys naked and covered in blood.
“He was screaming hysterically,” Holyfield said. “He screamed ‘Help me!’ And I came and opened my door and I see him coming down the hall with the two boys in his arms.
“They were dead. They were dead. There was blood everywhere, it covered them,” said the distraught neighbor.
‘It’s awful. It’s heartbreaking.’
Holyfield added: “They are babies. The boys didn’t deserve that.”
Witness Miguel Blandino said the father sobbed as rescuers tried to revive the children.
“They took her out and tried to revive her,” he said.
“It was shocking. It was two small children,” he added.
