17-month-old child, child and 4 others shot dead in Clinton: police

CLINTON, NC (WNCN) – Detectives from the Clinton Police Department are investigating a shooting Saturday night after they say six people were shot dead.

Around 9:30 p.m., officers were called to the scene of a gunshot at 501 Stetson Street.

Upon arrival, they report that six people suffered from gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital.

The victims listed are:

  • 61-year-old Agnes Chevallier
  • 60-year-old Ricky Herring
  • 36-year-old Jonathan Raynor
  • 23-year-old Isaiah Cunningham
  • A 12 year old boy
  • A 17 month old male toddler

All victims are reportedly in stable condition.

Investigators said the suspects arrived at the address in a black Chrysler 200 and drove past a house where residents were gathered outside.

They say the car circled the block and passed again, this time firing at the house and hitting the six victims.

The suspects then fled the scene of the crime.

Where they went is not known.

Investigators say the evidence gathered so far shows the shooting was targeted and not a random act of violence.

Investigators continue to investigate and follow leads.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clinton Police Department at 910-592-3105.
