1 person killed in Maplewood crash – WCCO

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (WCCO) – One person has died following a crash in Maplewood on Friday night.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Toyota Carolla was traveling north on Highway 61 just before midnight when it veered off the road at County B Road. The vehicle then entered the right lane of Highway 61. south and crashed head-on into a Ford F150.
One person in the Toyota Carolla died, while two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford was not injured.
The State Patrol identified the dead as Tou Moua, of Fresno, California.
Alcohol is believed to be involved in the crash, and the crash involved a person not wearing a seat belt. In addition, the roads were filled with snow and frost due to winter storms.
