1 dead in fire at west Houston townhouse, officials say
Firefighters responded to a fire call at Block 6400 of Burgoyne Drive on Thursday afternoon.
@HoustonFire is near block 6400 Burgoyne Dr. on site and launches an offensive attack after receiving reports of a row house on fire. One civilian fatality (unknown demographics). No FF injuries reported. Please avoid the area due to heavy emergency traffic. @FireChiefofHFD

At the scene, firefighters said teams conducted an offensive attack on the townhouse fire. One person was found dead. It is still unclear what caused the fire and whether anyone was still in the house at the time.
Authorities are asking people to avoid the area because of heavy emergency traffic.
