Yae Miko “fix” has been reset in Genshin Impact, but players want more buffs

A Yae Miko “fix” that was pushed back as part of Genshin Impact version 2.6 reset just days after launch, switching back to random targeting instead of the closest target on her elemental ability. However, players still want more buffs while the Guuji is fighting.

Yae Miko was one of the most anticipated characters in Genshin Impact history. The High Priestess of the Great Narukami Shrine would cause whales to come out of the shadows, ready to roll in big to play with the kitsune.

However, players were immensely disappointed after launch. Her gear was full of bugs and for many she wasn’t worth the move as her high energy cost and low defense made her hardly an upgrade for a Spiral Abyss team.

Yae Miko’s launch disappointed players and fixes didn’t help.

HoYoverse attempted to fix Yae Miko in Genshin Impact version 2.6 and made a change where “Sesshou Sakura now prioritizes attacks on the closest enemies in range” rather than random enemies.

It fell flat, however, as HoYoverse quickly rolled back the changes just a week after launching on March 30.

“We’ve reverted Yae Miko’s character change, making her Sesshou Sakura ability prioritize attacks on the closest enemy in range,” reads an in-game message.

“After the rollback, Sesshou Sakura will randomly attack an enemy within range.”

Genshin Impact players can claim 100 Primogems after the Yae Miko revert.

HoYoverse compensated Genshin Impact players with 100 Primogems for the inconvenience, but the revert was well received by players. Now, however, they’re calling on HoYoverse to deliver some meaningful buffs to Yae Miko that aren’t just “spend money on constellations.”

“Their damage isn’t the problem at all, it’s their squishyness. Your damage is fine. We only need them as a break [resistant] when she puts on her turrets or puts them on quickly instead of the little pause in between.” said one player.

“Stagger res or iframes…should also be added.” added another.

While some feel the change has made her viable again in Taser teams, players would like her to take up less time on the field since she’s essentially a setup character, and maybe try and reduce her energy cost to lower.

However, HoYoverse has very rarely shipped character buffs or nerfs post-release — Zhongli is an exception to the norm. If there are any changes at any time, we will let you know.
