xQc & Pokimane reveal their biggest concern over Twitch Rivals events

In the first episode of their new Twitch podcast, xQc and Pokimane revealed their biggest concern when it comes to Twitch Rivals events – the struggle to find a balance between fun and effort.

Twitch Rivals The events will be about pitting popular streamers against each other in different games to have fun. However, sometimes it can get pretty sweaty because there is a lot of money at stake.

Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel and Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys spoke about it on the first episode of their new Twitch podcast and came to the same conclusion – they’re not always fun because of it, and something needs to change, according to the two Twitch stars.

Twitch Rivals is a competitive online event series featuring streamers and pro gamers.

xQc started off by not enjoying the $100,000 Rust Twitch Rivals event. “It wasn’t fun. It just itched. I didn’t enjoy it at all,” he said. He then explained what he believed to be the root of the problem.

“There were a few streamers that were smaller and they made an effort, even if they don’t know much about Rust. They weren’t looking for any spectators because they were so happy to be included in the tournament.

“They stream for years and have no viewers and eventually they reach a point where they get invited to a 40-person event. So they’re trying to play hard because there’s a big prize pool, so there’s a lot of influence and money at stake.”

Poki agreed, adding her two cents. “I think in general Twitch Rivals events have this problem where there’s such a wide spectrum of playing for fun and content and then trying really bloody hard,” she said.

Because of this, she feels Twitch Rivals events can sometimes fall short. “Where do you draw the line in balancing around all of this? I feel like that’s why Twitch Rivals events can really be hit or miss.”

It was one of many topics they covered throughout the stream. It’s important, however, as it could mean that if nothing changes, they and other popular streamers may be less willing to attend Twitch Rivals events.

The dynamic duo wants to work together and create podcast episodes like this one more often. So there’s a good chance we’ll hear more about this issue in the coming weeks and months, especially if they attend another event.
