Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel believes the Fortnite controller’s aim assist is too powerful and gives players a huge advantage over their PC counterparts.
The Fortnite controller aim assist debate is as old as the game itself. In fact, this topic is often hotly debated in many popular FPS games. While both input devices have clear pros and cons, xQc thinks Fortnite controller players have it best thanks to aim assist.
In fact, the streamer demonstrated to its viewers how powerful this mechanic is when using a controller. Finally, the ability to instantly snap at a target’s body can result in some incredibly quick kills, especially in close-range combat where quick reactions are essential.
xQc believes the Fortnite controller aim assist is broken
During his recent Fortnite stream, xQc switched to a controller to show off the power of aim assist. After falling into Condo Canyon, the popular streamer simply shot at nearby targets and gunned them down before they could even react.
“I’m not even aiming,” xQc shouted as he quickly eliminated a player. The streamer then ran down the stairs and snapped at another enemy. “Holy shit, do you see that? Oh my god, it’s broken!’
xQc was surprised at how powerful the controller’s aim assist seemed to be, and he managed to kill three players before going down. While controllers can have a nice advantage in these particular scenarios, medium to long range firefights can be a bit trickier.
This is especially true when players want to land precise headshots from a distance using snipers or ARs. Meanwhile, the mouse and keyboard can easily track enemies and instantly reposition their cursors with movements.
Ultimately, the gadget you use doesn’t determine how good you are at the game, but it can help improve your survivability in certain situations – an area highlighted by xQc in his latest clip.
