Worker fatally shot in Long Island hospital parking lot


A Northwell Health worker was killed after being shot dead in a hospital car park in New Hyde Park on Thursday afternoon, hospital officials said.

According to a hospital statement, the unidentified worker was killed in the public garage at Northwell Health’s Marcus Avenue facility in 1999, where doctors’ offices and specialist offices are located.

Several team members provided assistance at the scene before the victim was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead, the hospital said.

Nassau County Police could not confirm the fatal shooting but told The Post an investigation is ongoing after an incident in New Hyde Park at the same address around 4:15 p.m

Northwell said it is providing on-site consulting services to team members and “mourns the heartbreaking loss of our colleague and team member.” Worker fatally shot in Long Island hospital parking lot
