Woman stole U-Haul truck caught in Edgecombe Co.: MPs

EDGECOMBE COUNTY, NC (WNCN) – The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office says one of their deputies arrested a woman who stole a U-Haul truck.

Deputies say 31-year-old Charlotte resident Heather D. Wright was found driving a stolen U-Haul through Edgecombe County.

After receiving a notification from one of their cameras on Saturday, a deputy was able to stop the truck and arrest the driver.

MPs say the U-Haul was stolen from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area after Monday, April 1,

Wright is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and not having a driver’s license.

She received secured bail of $7,500.
