According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Kassie Wujkowski, 29, from Arbor Vitae, will undergo an initial 18 months in custody, followed by 18 and a half years of extended supervision after pleading guilty to two counts of theft of more than $10,000. She was also ordered to pay $302,960.54 in connection with the theft of more than $400,000 from a 70-year-old man.
Between October 2017 and October 2019, Wujkowski is reported to have made 1,324 transactions using the victim’s credit card totaling $331,774. Of that, nearly $140,000 was spent at casinos.
Additionally, despite only earning $1,250 a month, investigators say Wujkowski spent more than $20,000 on his own credit card bills and paid himself and his family more than $80,000.
“Senior fraud and exploitation of the elderly is a growing problem, with an estimated $77.8 million lost annually in Wisconsin. Attorney General Josh Kaul said.
The case was prosecuted by the Criminal Investigative Justice Department and the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office.
