YouTuber Kelin shared the hack to her account, House on the hydrangea treewhere it has been viewed more than a million times.

The entire transition costs less than £300 and Kelin says it not only provides a new space, but also offers a huge amount of storage.

Kelin used four £60 NORDLI modular chests and assembled them according to IKEA instructions.

Kelin says if your windows are smaller you could simply go for the four-panel NORDLI drawer which costs £180.

Next, Kelin used 2×4 pieces of wood to base the units and attach them together.

She then drilled the back of the base into the wall to secure her window seat.

Kelin attaches the devices to the base and then secures the devices together with nails.

For the top of the window seat, she used two 12-foot pieces of wood that fastened them together and painted them white to match the units.

Kelin said she didn’t fix the top of the units, for the final detail she cut out the base board to place on the base of the unit.

This is to make the window seat look like it’s built in and match the rest of the walls in her room.

To seal the gap between the wall and the seat, Kelin used a shoe mold and wrapped it around the backs of the units.

Finally, Kelin slotted drawers into the devices and created a hidden outlet box so she could still access the electrical outlet on the back of the appliance.

All together, the hack costs less than £300 to complete.

Viewers were in awe of the results of Kelin’s DIY project, with one person writing: “Great idea and the end result is absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing”.

“Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing this hack. I’m about to create a breakfast nook for my kitchen and this would look perfect in my space.” Another viewer commented.

A third said: “Looks clean and professional. Good job!”
