FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities believe a 64-year-old woman was killed in central California after an SUV carrying suspected fugitive mail thieves crashed into her sedan. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday afternoon. The Fresno Bee reported that the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said three people in the SUV allegedly fled after stealing mail from a nearby mailbox. KSEE reports that the driver of the SUV is facing vehicle manslaughter charges. The crash happened around 1 p.m. when the SUV sped past a stop sign and crashed into the driver’s side of the sedan. The victim was not immediately identified.
