A woman was seriously injured when a thug beat her and robbed her in an unprovoked attack at a Bronx subway station – a week after an elderly man was shoved in another brutal robbery, police officers said.
The 66-year-old woman was leaving Fordham Road B and D train station in the Fordham Road borough around 7:45pm on Friday when a man repeatedly slapped her in the face and was grabbing her bag, police said late Tuesday.
The perpetrator then left the station.
The victim was taken to St Barnabas Hospital where she was recorded in serious but stable condition.
Police released a photo of the suspect and are searching for him.
The incident came a week after an 84-year-old man was pushed to the ground and robbed at around 9:30 a.m. on September 9 at 88th Street and 102nd Road in Ozone Park, police officers said.
The senior was walking with a stick when a stranger pushed him from behind and knocked him down, police said.
The perpetrator then stole the purse of the older victim.
Surveillance video shows the suspect – who has bright orange or yellow hair – lurking in the street next to a line of parked cars while the senior walked on the sidewalk.
The perpetrator fled after the robbery, the victim was slightly injured.
