Woman, 37 years old, killed after being hit by a car outside Lidl while crossing the street

A woman has died after being hit by a car outside Lidl as she crossed the street.

The 37-year-old was walking on Grampian Road in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire when the collision happened around 7:50pm on Monday.

Emergency services attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene tragically.

The driver of the black Fiat Panda was uninjured.

Police are appealing for information about the incident in East Dunbartonshire.

Sergeant Roy McCarney, of the Glasgow Road Policy Unit, said: “We are conducting investigations to determine the full circumstances and I would like to urge those who witnessed the incident to contact them. I.

“I would also ask anyone with dashcam equipment to check the footage as they may have information that could assist our investigation.”

The road was closed for several hours after the crash while investigators examined the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, citing incident number 3189 of 29 November 2021.
