Wolves of Prey in Jackson County

NORTH Park, Colo. (KDVR) – What appears to be a looting wolf was discovered Sunday morning in Jackson County.

A Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer received a report at 7:50 a.m. of a dead dog and an injured dog on a ranch.

After conducting a field investigation, wildlife stewards identified a wolf as being involved in an eviction involving two cross-border dogs.

“The results of this investigation show wolf tracks in the vicinity of the carcass and injuries to the canine carcass consistent with coyote depletion,” said CPW Regional Wildlife Director Kris Middledorf said.
