The festive season is a time to remember and express gratitude for all we have in life – a fact that becomes apparent when that life may be coming to an end.
Andrew Kuzyk has faced his fair share of battles, having won stage four skin and kidney cancer. Now, he’s on an even tougher journey.
However, his and his wife’s positive attitude illuminates all shadows – and what better time to show that light than during Christmas?

In mid-2021, Andrew along with Pamela Kuzyk and their grandchild survived a car crash.
However, their joy of escaping the tragedy should have been cut short when medical experts discovered a tumor in the brains of the husband and grandfather. It was labeled as terminal after a failed surgery.

Determined to keep his spouse’s spirits up, Pamela arranged a surprise Christmas for him. Open up about her and Andrew’s shared love over the happy holidays, Pamela expressed:
“We met in Michigan, and we were both crazy about Christmas. We always consider it a point to decorate together. ”
Choosing to surprise him on the day he returns from surgery, she sets out to create a festive landscape around their house. It is decorated to the very end with lots of Christmas trees, fake snowmen and lights, to name a few.

Returning home from surgery, this loving husband had no idea what wonderful world he would enter. Andrew recall:
“When I got home and saw what she’d done, I was blown away and I couldn’t tell her I loved her more.”
Sticking to his positive attitude, the phenomenal man has said that his impending departure doesn’t bother him too much; he still sees life through a beautiful lens, he said, and considers himself extremely lucky.
As Andrew did, staring death face-to-face can be terrifying. However, when he chose to have a charming prospect, so did 38-year-old mum Hayley Adams’ other half.
Adams was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Her boyfriend and now husband, Steve Manen, 40, had a crush on propose for her for a long time.

Knowing that she might run away, her partner chose to propose to her in the hospital on November 18, 2021. Of course, she said yes, clarify afterward:
“It was the best day of my life.”
Both of these bittersweet stories remind us that we shouldn’t wait until we let the people we care about know that we love them. Instead, we should do it now and always take the opportunity to celebrate this short life with the people we hold dear in our hearts.
