Why was cornflakes invented?

CORNFLAKES are among the most popular cereals and are used for other recipes in addition to breakfast dishes.

That’s who invented cornflakes and why.

William Kellogg and his brother John invented cornflakes

Who invented cornflakes?

Cereal was created in 1898 by industrialist William (WK) Kellogg and his brother John.

WK Kellogg founded the Michigan company, which has also produced All-Bran, Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes.

He died in 1951 at the age of 91 – leaving behind many of his children.

Why were cornflakes?

William’s brother, John Kellogg, wanted food that was good for patients at a Michigan sanatorium where he was superintendent.

The strange way cornflakes came to be is documented on Kellogg’s website.

“In a happily unsuccessful attempt to make cereal, our company’s founder, WK Kellogg, and his brother, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, changed breakfast forever when they accidentally flaked wheatberries,” Kellogg officials write.

“WK kept experimenting until he made cornflakes and created the delicious recipe for Kellogg’s Corn Flakes.”

Kellogg opened the Battle Creek Toasted Cornflake Company in 1906 and carefully hired its first employees.

According to Kellogg’s, they created the first batch of cereal “and brought to life WK’s vision of great-tasting breakfast foods that are better for you.”

Kellogg’s ships the muesli to more than 180 countries around the world, according to the company.

“We’re still giving you and your family a better breakfast that leads to better days, and we flake corn the same way WK Kellogg did in 1898,” the company wrote.

“It just tastes better that way.”

The basic ingredient in cornflakes is, of course, corn. Other ingredients include sugar, salt, barley malt extract and vitamins.

The muesli has a long and colorful history – and was even used as part of a campaign against masturbation.

One of the leaders of the anti-masturbation movement was Dr. John Kellogg.

He said he felt uncomfortable having sex dental flossand his marriage never consummated.

All his children were adopted.

“If illicit trade between the sexes is a heinous sin, self-pollution is a doubly heinous crime,” Kellogg wrote, according to Mental Floss.

John Kellogg believed that certain foods – like grains – could limit sexual desire.

Corn flakes became one of the morning meals that he hoped would serve that purpose.

Many people took to Twitter after this nugget of information was shared by @UberFacts last year.

“Porn flakes,” wrote one user.

“I like cornflakes, but they’re nowhere near as satisfying,” wrote another.

Are cornflakes healthy?

Cornflakes aren’t the healthiest breakfast you can have.

This is because the grain is high in carbohydrates.

They are low in fiber but can also be turned into a healthy breakfast.

You can try adding some fruit and low-fat yogurt if you’re that fond of cornflakes in your breakfast. Why was cornflakes invented?
