Why a Gus Fring series should be the next Breaking Bad spinoff

Better call Saul is nearing its end with Season 6, but AMC could bring fans back to the world of breaking Bad with another spinoff. The story of Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) will come to an end with the final season of the prequel, but there are other characters from Vince Gilligan’s vast universe to discover. If that breaking Bad Creator decides to dive into one of them in another spinoff series, it should be Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito). Here’s why.
The next Breaking Bad spinoff is set to follow Gus Fring
TIED TOGETHER: ‘Better Call Saul’: Aaron Paul is ‘excited’ that Walter and Jesse are returning in a ‘perfect way’
Gus Fring is one of them breaking Bad‘s most notable villains that pose a massive threat Walter WhiteBryan Cranston and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) throughout the original series. And although he’s not quite the same kingpin Better call Saul, the character remains intimidating as ever. Few other people would have the gall to order a hit on Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton). And Nacho’s (Michael Mando) fate proves that Gus isn’t sentimental.
Since Gus so rarely expresses emotion, a spinoff would have a chance to show fans what’s going on inside his head. Hard-to-read characters make for intriguing clues, especially when they’re as popular as Gus.
and breaking Bad has already laid the groundwork for a Gus prequel and features a flashback that raises important questions about Gus’ life before he became Chicken Man.

Gus Fring’s storyline in breaking Bad and Better call Saul is about revenge, and a spin-off could reveal more about what got him there.
From the flashback in breaking Bad season 4 By episode 8, fans know that the character’s grudge against the Salamancas and Don Eladio (Steven Bauer) stems from what they did to his friend Max. Not only did you kill someone he cared about, you also hurt his pride.
Still, much about Gus’ backstory remains unexplored. During the same flashback, Don Eladio references the character’s time in Chile. It’s unclear what he’s referring to, but a prequel could offer further explanations. It could also show how Gus got involved in the meth business in the first place.
There are so many questions to answer, and fans would no doubt devour a spinoff that speaks to them. And it seems they’re not the only ones interested in delving deeper into Gus Fring’s story.
Giancarlo Esposito seems ready to reprise his ‘Breaking Bad’ role
During an interview with insiderGiancarlo Esposito spoke about the possibility of another breaking Bad Spinoff focused on Gus Fring. And while nothing’s confirmed, it sounds like he and series creator Vince Gilligan are both open to the idea. Esposito even agreed that there is more to Gus’ story to explore:
“The last days [on set of ‘Better Call Saul’], I’m in tears and I look over my shoulder and I hear Vince say, ‘You never know.’ And so I wanted and always felt that there was room for material for the rise of Gus. I think it would be interesting to know where he came from.”
Hopefully that leaves the door open to come back to this world later. After all, we’re going to miss these characters for once Better call Saul makes his last bow.
