Where Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool stars finish in Ballon d’Or . rankings

When Lionel Messi celebrating Saturday’s Ballon d’Or in Paris on Monday night, there was a disappointment for a host of players who were hoping to beat the Argentinian superstar to the prize.
PSG forward Messi took home the award for a record seventh time after helping his country win the Copa America and scoring 28 goals for former club Barcelona.
Bayern Munich and Poland striker Robert Lewandowski finished second and Chelsea and Italy midfielder Jorginho finished third.
Real Madrid and France striker, Karim Benzema, finished fourth ahead of N’Golo Kante, who helped Chelsea win the title Champions League last season with Jorginho.
Manchester United hero Cristiano Ronaldo is sixth, ahead of Liverpool and Egypt superstar Mohamed Salah in seventh.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain duo Kevin de Bruyne, Kylian Mbappe and Gianluigi Donnarumma completed the top 10.
Premier League leaders Chelsea have four players on the 30-man shortlist and Romelu Lukaku is 12th, Mason Mount is 19th and Cesar Azpilicueta is 29th.

After winning the French Football Ballon d’Or, Messi said: ‘I’m really proud to have won the Ballon d’Or again. It’s hard to believe winning it for the seventh time.
‘I want to thank my family, friends and everyone who has followed and supported me, because without them I wouldn’t be able to do it.’
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi added: ‘I would like to warmly congratulate Leo.
‘The club is extremely proud that one of our players has won this most coveted and coveted title.
‘Leo is making football history again. Together with all of our supporters around the world, we are delighted to be able to enjoy one of the most iconic players of all time in a Rouge & Bleu shirt. ‘
