Major League Baseball is back.
After an annoying lockout threatened to wipe out April baseball, the Cubs and Brewers got their season underway yesterday afternoon. Now that the rain has settled in New York, the Yankees will open their season this afternoon in the Bronx (1:05 p.m.) against the Red Sox, six months after the last disappointing season in Boston ended in AL wildcard play.
It is exhilarating to think of the possibilities that lie ahead. It’s a pleasure to see the players take the field for the first time. It’s easy to look forward to opening day.
