Dragons are more than just a neutral round in TFT Set 7. In Dragonlands, the core mechanic is the mythical beasts, polishing the boards of players with ultra-powerful abilities. Here’s how they work and what types of dragons you can find.
With TFT Set 7 exploring the Dragonlands, it only makes sense that players entering the Convergence would become familiar with the beasts of the same name.
Dragons take center stage in TFT’s latest update, with the ultra-powerful units forming the core set mechanics. They are more than just another unit on a board – they are ultimately what makes your comp shine. The best boards in TFT set 7 needs a kite.
So here’s what you need to know about dragons, including beasts to take with you into the Convergence.
What are dragons in TFT Set 7?
Dragons are TFT Set 7’s special mechanic, but they don’t work like other set-specific gimmicks before.
“When we landed on Dragonlands, we were excited to create a list inspired by all sorts of high-fantasy stories involving dragons. We looked at the list of champions to draw some real dragons and we had so many to choose from like Aurelion Sol, Shyvana and that was it.” said developer Matthew ‘Wittrock’ Wittrock in a May developer video.
“We repurposed League’s dragon and dragon-like models to fit into one of the seven realms of the Dragonlands.
Dragons themselves are part of a trait – similar to Rival in Set 6 – that benefits from having only one of them on the field. As each dragon joins a different realm, they will buff specific champions based on their traits and their affiliation with that realm.
They are also ultra-strong units. Dragons receive triple the trait bonus of their origin, take up two slots, and boast an impressive array of base stats. They also have unique abilities. However, all this comes with a rather high price – you have to buy them in the store.
Every dragon in TFT Set 7: Abilities
Not all dragons from TFT Set 7 have been revealed yet. However, Riot shared some of them – namely Aurelion Sol, Galio, Ao Shin and Shyvana. A handful of the elemental dragons will also form the leaders of the seven realms.
Once the full list is confirmed, including their abilities, we’ll update you here.
