WEST Ham star Manuel Lanzini has survived a dramatic car crash – unbelievably free from the wreck.
The 29-year-old Argentina midfielder was being chauffeured in a 70,000-pound Mercedes people carrier when he overturned on the A12 this afternoon.
Other motorists looked horrified at the V-Class – with one west ham License plate – landed on its side in a crumpled mess.
firefighters raced to the scene, but Lanzini miraculously emerged unharmed. He was screened at the scene but judged good enough to continue training.
The attacker is believed to have been driven back to the training ground on his return to the country after his international duty.
A source said: “From what I’ve heard it’s a miracle he’s alive.
“It was an incredibly close accident and could have killed Lanzini and the driver.
“It’s common for West Ham players to use a chauffeur service – particularly for those who live in the city.
“They were on a dual carriageway, which could have resulted in complete carnage.
“It just goes to show that it doesn’t matter how much money you have – we’re all just as vulnerable to such an impact.
“Thank God he was fine.”
The crash is said to have taken place after 2.30pm today as Lanzini was walking to the club’s Rush Green complex East London.
Witnesses said Lanzini had a slight limp at the scene – but it is understood he was examined and found fit by top medics who work at West Ham’s training ground.
The chauffeur was said to have been cut out of the vehicle but was unharmed.
The father of a Lanzini, capped for Argentina, should be available for West Ham’s squad against Everton on Sunday.
Lanzini has faced a string of traffic offenses since joining the Hammers in 2015 – first on loan before transferring £9million – including speeding, driving without insurance and production failures.
He has previously driven a £100,000 Range Rover.
police and the fire department was called to the scene.
A West Ham spokesman confirmed the crash, saying: “It happened on the A12 near the training ground.”
A Met spokesman said: “Police were called at 12.49pm on Thursday 31 March to reports of a collision on the A12 in Romford.
“Officials were present and it was reported that a car had left the westbound lane before colliding with a tree. No injuries were reported.”
